The Certificate course in Credit and Lending
at ANZ Institute, is an introductory course for new banking staff who are
preparing for credit and lending roles in the bank or financial institution.
This course provides a firm background for the learner and serves as a
foundation for developing further credit skills such as skills in SME Lending
described earlier.
The bank or lending institution would find it
useful as part of its induction program for new officers joining the banking
industry. While some of the officers may become specialist credit staff, the
others assigned to different parts of the bank would have some credit knowledge
that can help the bank develop a credit culture across the organization.
Credit
risk is a key risk element and it pervades across all parts of the bank and
particular in its loan portfolio. Hence a standard level of knowledge and
understanding of credit and lending across the bank officers can be a strategic
tool in risk management through creating and enhancing a credit culture.
After a course of study and acquiring a
certificate of learning, the staff can demonstrate to the bank that the learner
has acquired knowledge and understanding on credit and lending and is ready for
the assigned roles.
